Late post: Tuesday Tip of the Day

A little late on this post & this time no video.  Instead sharing this tip.  Easy, simple & many benefits from infused water.
 
 
 
Cucumbers, lime & lemon: Citrus fruits help digestion especially in room temp water. Cucumbers are natural diuretics that help with water weight. This water can help heartburn, water weight, indigestion, gas, bloating, loss of appetite, vomiting & constipation.
 
Strawberries and cucumbers: Strawberries are RICH in vitamins and this combo helps manage water weight while protecting my immune system and even encouraging younger-looking skin.
 
Oranges, lime & lemon: same as number 1 except for the water weight.

Tuesday Tip of the Day

Today's Tuesday Tip of the Day comes from Twig:

   

 A bonus tip today. Twig shared this with me as well. How to "crack" your oatmeal. If you buy regular oats, you know it takes twice as long if not more to cook. To help speed up that process, take your oatmeal & put it in the blender or food processor. "Pulse" it a few times and then cook. See examples below.

Late: Tuesday Tip of the Day!


 
Satomi's tip may sound a little funny.  Those that do Zumba and attend EMZ know exactly what she's talking about with 'cut up shirts'.  Like she said, don't cut up all of them...OR buy more than one of the same design.  Why?  There's been a few occassions where we want to sport our tee with jeans to an event that is not Zumba and we can't because it's "too cut up".  Hahahaha!

Don't forget -- beginning this Friday, January 18th, we kick off our "Attendance Challenge" plus our "EMZ Weight Challenge".
 
Attendance Challenge will work like this:
 
Pick up card from any one of the instructors.  It is then your responsibility each day after class to have an instructor sign off on date attended.  If you lose your card, you start over on the day you pick up a new card.  If you forget to get your card signed, sorry -- no back dating.  At the end of the 12 week challenge, the individual(s) with the most days attended will receive a prize.  *No entry fee
 
EMZ Weight Loss Challenge:
Men & women separated into separate groups.  In each group two winners will be chosen.  One person with the most pounds lost.  Second winner will be based off of percentage. Here's the calculation:  total weight lost divided by beginning weight multiplied by 100.  For example, if my beginning weight is 267 and individual loses 30 pounds, here's the math:  30 / 267 = 0.112 X 100 = 11.24%.  Total of four winners.  No extreme dieting, starvation, etc.  We want to encourage the safest and healthiest way which means proper diet & exercise.  I (Sinai) will be doing weigh-ins before class on Friday, maybe during & definitely after.  Prizes will be awarded to winners. 

Hopefully the challenges will serve as an incentive to stay motivated.

Happy New Year - 2013!


It's a New Year.  

New Beginnings.

New Goals.

With that being said, we've decided to add "Tip of the day Tuesday".  Some fun tips from a few of our instructors.  Some serious, some not so serious.

Our very first tip and appropriate for the New Year is from the one and only Suka801 aka Ame.



Our preference would be for you to join our EMZ Crew Monday through Friday, but understand that it may not work for all due to different reasons.  Definitely add fitness to your life.  Be consistent.  Find a workout you enjoy.  Make it a lifetime commitment.
